The Visit South Devon team recently had an amazing tasting experience at Devon Rum Co in their fabulous headquarters right on the waters edge in Salcombe. We were treated to an exotic rum cocktail on arrival followed by a tasty flight of four rums. Expert guidance was provided by Brad who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us an insight into the history and production of the rums. Not being a rum drinker, I was a little dubious as to whether I would enjoy this experience; just proof that trying is believing and worth giving anything a go!
Maddie is excellent at explaining the whole of the Devon Rum distilling and bottling process which is fascinating.
The samples to try were so different from my limited experience of rum - and definitely re-educated my thoughts and what to look out for in future.
